I am following the recipe below to make barbecue beef sandwiches …… the question I have is that states to roast in the oven …. I do what temperature to roast? And how long? Do I have to cover? Suggestions? 3 pounds chuck roast 1 cup water 2 beef bouillon cubes 1 tablespoon chopped onion 15 oz tomato sauce 1 / 4 cup brown sugar 1 / 4 cup ketchup 1 / 4 cup mustard 1 dash Worcestershire sauce Directions: Roast in the oven, along with 1 cup water and bouillon cubes. Shred meat with a fork after cooking and retain 1 cup cooking liquid. Add remaining shredded beef ingredients. Put in a crock pot and simmer 3 to 4 hours. This is what I would do, and God knows I've done a lot of roast. Put all this in the oven at 300 for four hours. Make sure covered. Should be very easy to shred with a fork later. If the sauce is too thin, you can simmer until desired thickness the stove top with a pot.
