Sendera is one of the city is among the group of multiple adjacent Southwest Austin subdivisions collectively known as Oak Hill. This is a more recent Besides the immediate area, with the construction of houses here have begun in mid-1990 and ending around 2003.

Its boundaries are Davis Lane north west of Mopac, Slaughter Lane to the south (although there are houses on both sides of the Slaughter) and east is adjacent to the age of Deer Park at Maple Run neighborhood. However, as you drive the tracking area boundary lines can be tricky business: you may suddenly find themselves outside the official limits and Sendera within the section of Deer Park. Because of the way this developed area is not uncommon to turn off a street and suddenly you are in another subdivision. Do not let this worry, because the neighborhoods flow well together and are fairly uniform in appearance.

Like other neighborhoods here, you can expect Sendera to make a nice first impression: it is clean, quiet and very well landscaped, well-trimmed yards and outdoor public areas in good condition. Some dead-ends the impasse and most streets are a throwback to the busy Mopac and Slaughter Lane, giving an interior feel insulated.

Sendera is just minutes from downtown Austin, due to its proximity to North Mopac. Also within walking distance of the famous Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center and the start of Hill Country, and minutes from Cordillera Village Shopping Center, opened in 2006. That's where he finds a new HEB store to serve all residents of local neighborhoods. The center also includes several popular restaurants.

Also other options are now much closer, almost on your doorstep. As you go immediately to the subdivision Slaughter Lane, you will find a group of retail sites, including a pharmacy, Walgreen's, Wendy's, Starbucks and other restaurants, "fast casual." Slaughter Lane on this side of the neighborhood is significantly busier, with quite heavy and constant flow of traffic.

Sendera is dominated by single-family homes occupied individual owner, despite including the Camden Stoneleigh Apartments Sendera Mesa. The resort is large with several buildings, but because it is in several hectares, has a closed perimeter and positioned away from the street, mixed with their environment in a way that is almost imperceptible.

Otherwise, Sendera is a mixture of one and two story homes, ranging in size from 1,500 to 2,800 square feet. Construction is what has come to expect in the most recently built neighborhoods Austin – exteriors of brick or stone, two garages, vaulted ceilings and the front and space modest backyard with privacy fence separating the properties.

Sendera plant has its own outdoor pool in Sendera Mesa and Lanna Bluff, not far from the apartments. It is a large swimming pool with a maximum six-lane swimming. The facility itself is immaculate, controlled by security cameras and surrounded by a generously landscaped lot with swings and a piece of landscape for children. In addition to the pool, a recreation committee oversees events as the annual fun run, a garage sale and a Memorial Day barbecue cook-off. There is a playgroup for parents and young children that meets weekly in the pool.

Sendera, like other neighborhoods in Oak Hill, is governed by an association asset owners. Besides the strict application of deed restrictions in construction, property maintenance and noise, the association also be alert to crime and noise. Recent discussion here refers to efforts to discourage lawyers from the catchment area and the renewal of a program surveillance of the neighborhood.

The Sendera HOA is part of the great Oak Hill Neighborhood Association, a politically active group of residents of the surrounding neighborhoods that have the ear of local developers, councilors and other local community leaders. Like other neighborhoods of Oak Hill, has been Sendera right in the middle of the recent battles on the growth, development and the environment. In 2003 residents had an important role in helping to defeat plans to build Wal-Mart Super great downtown at Mopac and Slaughter, at the edge of the subdivision. Sendera hopes to continue participating in these types of issues, including the Austin City Council in 2005 mandated long-term strategy for the future development of this and the rest of Oak Hill.

The neighbors have found natural allies in partnership with local environmental groups in their struggle to protect the environmentally sensitive Edwards Aquifer, the vast underground reservoir of porous rock that serves as the main groundwater supply Central Texas. Begins here and extends about 180 miles across several counties. While environmentalists lobby to limit any industrial or commercial development that could adversely affect water quality, residents keep track of everything that I feel could drastically increase traffic congestion and expansion urban, ultimately driving down property values and alter the quality of life here.

Cowan The children here attend primary school has been given a very good "recognized" rating by the Texas Education Association. Covington Middle School is rated "Academically acceptable ", as Bowie High School.
