Some grilling questions and advice please?
Alright, me and my friends are going to bbq at the beach tomorrow and no one really knows how to bbq/grill. I have a general idea of what to do since i see my other friends do it sometimes. Anyone wanna guide through how to start the fire and what I should do to keep it lit? Do I leave it lit til the coal turns gray?
Maybe can anyone tell me some grilling tips on boneless chicken tenders, pork chop, steak, and sausages?
One big thing I wanna know is… Is it better to get the charcoal with gas infused in it like Kingsford Match light? or will it be better to do it the old fashion way with charcoal and lighter fluid? I want it to leave some good flavor and keep the charcoal lit for a long time.
Match light charcoal or lighter fluid can make your food taste and smell like airplane fuel. You can use newspaper balled up or get a charcoal chimney for starting your barbeque. A chimney holds about 100 charcoal, you wad some newspaper underneath, Light the newspaper and in about 20 minutes you have a nice ash on the coal, which you can then dump into the grill.
If you want to cook sausages, I like Johnsonville Brats They take about 20 minutes on the grill to cook through and will stay nice and juicy. Chicken tenders will cook quickly but dry out very easily because there is no fat to protect them. Steaks are good on the grill, depending on how thick they are they can be cooked 4-5 mintues a side if it isn’t too thick (1″ or less)
