Simple menu ideas for large summer party?
My parents are throwing me a going away party at the end of July. We are holding it at a local park with BBQ pits, for about 75 people. They asked me what I want to have since it’s my party, but I don’t really know! I want something simple, there will be lots of kids so probably hot dogs, chips and dip, etc. What other simple foods do people usually serve at large outdoor “events”?
I am allergic to all melons, but do you think people would enjoy having slices of cantelope and watermelon to munch on, or is it too messy?
I would prefer to have more of a buffet style than make my dad stand there cooking burgers, ribs and chicken =/
Potato/pasta salad sound good too, but I was hoping more for general “finger” foods, easy to eat, easy to clean up!
OK, you make like sausage in pastry, and make like a sweet chilli sauce… (it’s good)…
If you want to have a cake, a really good idea is to make heaps of cupcakes/muffins and stack them all into a pyramid (it happened at my siblings birthday, turned out really good, and was easy to serve).
Other food you could try is chicken on a skewer, party pies or nachos.
